Hello!
A few weeks ago we launched a new feature that ment we interview someone from each country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 & ask their review on their countries entry!
Today we are interviewing Luke Myers about Greece's 2014 entry!
Luke Myer is from the United Kingdom and is a massive Eurovision fan! Today sent Luke a few questions about Greece's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark!
Greece's 2014 entry is Freaky Fortune Ft Riskykidd with the song "Rise Up"! Luke has answered the question's we have sent him and you can read what he had to say tu us below!
1. Hello Luke! First off all thank you for agreeing to this interview! How long have you been a Eurovision fan?
Luke: Hello, it’s my pleasure. I’ve been a mega-Eurovision fan for several years now, I first started watching it properly when I was 10/11 (Eurovision 2007)
2. We would like to ask did you watch the Greek national final? If you did what where your highlights?
Luke: Unfortunately, I didn’t watch the Greek National Final, but I’d heard all the songs beforehand. I wanted either Freaky Fortune ft. Riskykidd or Krystallia to win, so I was happy with the result.
3. This year Greece will be represented by Freaky Fortune Ft Riskykidd. Could you tell us how you would compare their vocals to past Greek entries?
Luke: I really like this entry, I was worried that the vocals would let the song down but actually I was impressed by the vocals too, I’m not a massive fan of rap but even the rapping was good, I always think that rap at Eurovision can go two ways, really well or really bad, I think it’s on the really well side.
4. The song they will be entering with is called "Rise Up", Do you "Rise Up" and dance to this song or do you just stay in your seat?
Luke: It’s definitely a good dance tune; I can imagine it being played in nightclubs even here in the UK, a good summer hit. Personally, I’m not much of a dancer but who knows haha :D
5. Greece have had some very good results in recent years, Do you think that it will continue?
Luke: Greece’s has had a really good run of results recently maybe with the exception of 2012 (which was surprisingly one of my favourite Greek entries). Personally I like it, but I don’t know whether this music style suits Eurovision, I think it could go either way, but hey if “Alcohol is Free” can come 6th, there is hope for this song.
6. As we know Greece is in semi final two. Looking at the other countries in that
Luke: semi how would you rate Greece's chances of making the final?
Well Semi Final 2 (as usual) is stronger than Semi Final 1, in my opinion at least. I think they’ll have some tough competition, but it’s Greece, I think they can expect to keep that 100% pass rate.
7. Could you tell us where you can see Greece placing overall in Eurovision 2014?
Luke: In my personal top, it comes top 10 for sure, but as I mentioned before I think it could either way in Copenhagen. I’m guessing top 10, it’s a good song with good vocals and if it looks good on stage, there’s no reason why it can’t make top 5.
8. Finally could you tell us what you are most looking foward to in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014?
Luke: Well I’m looking forward to the running order draw because it gives us a better indication of who will qualify and who might be at risk. I’m excited for all of it, but I always like to see the stage design. I think it will be especially interesting this year because of the chosen venue, I’m curious to see how they’ll prepare the venue.
