Hello!
A few weeks ago we launched a new feature that ment we interview someone from each country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 & ask their review on their countries entry!
Today we are interviewing Harriet Cutts about France's 2014 entry!
Harriet Cutts is 14 and from the United Kingdom! We asked Harriet if we could ask her some questions about France's Eurovision 2014 entry Twin Twin, who will represent France with the song "Moustache". Harriet hs agreed to answer our questions and review Frances entry! Read what she had to say below!
1. Hiya Harriet! Thank you for agreeing to answer these question! Could you tell us how long you have been a Eurovision fan?
Harriet: I haven't actually been a Eurovision fan for that long, my first full Eurovision was in 2010 in Oslo where Lena won with her brilliant song "Sattelite". After watching the final, I've loved the Eurovision Song Contest and I actually wanted to see more. That's why I became a Eurovision fan. I've loved it and the songs which the countries send are very unique. Some I don't like, some are okay and some, well they are AMAZING!
2. This year France had a national final to decide their entry for Eurovision 2014, What did you think of the three entries taking part?
Harriet: There was only three songs and to be honest, I thought there should have been a few more songs but 3 was okay for a national selection since some countries only have 4 or 5 songs in their selection. Destan's song was the weakest out of the three, I didn't like the switch between English and French. Joanna's song was a beautiful song, but I thought it was easily forgettable and if it went it would be in the middle of my top. But it was Number 2 and it wasn't bad but not brilliant. And TWIN TWIN, well they are beyond amazing. I'll not spoil much!
3. After a month of voting it was announced Twin Twin would represent France with the song "Moustache", Could you tell us what you think of Moustache?
Harriet: I think Moustache is a catchy, brilliant dance track. When I first heard, it was instantly going to be my Number 1 in my Top of ESC 2014. It's catchy and I can't stop listening to it. It's a crazy song, I don't understand why people think it's a novelty act and it's a joke entry. I honestly don't think it is a joke entry. It's fantastic. It reminds me of their 2010 entry and that was really good and was 3rd on my Top of 2010. When Moustache got picked, I was so excited and bombed twitter with "YAAY" and "TWIN TWIN WON YAHOO", I've never been so excited in my life. I think it's going to be my favourite ESC entry of all time!
4. How would you compare Twin Twin to past France Eurovision entries?
Harriet: France are a great country in Eurovision, some of their entries have been on top form, some have been okay but not brilliant. Finally some of their entries have not tried hard and they bored me and sent me to sleep. I do have to mention some brilliant French entries to mention, their was obviously the 2010 entry by Jese Matador "Allez Ola Ole". The 2013 entry "L'enfer et Moi" was brilliant and such a shame it didn't place well.
5. Since France are part of the "Big 5" and are already in the grand final how would you rate France to the other big 5 counties & of course Denmark?
Harriet: I shouldn't really rate the Big 5 just yet because at the moment, Germany haven't announced who their entry is. So I should really rate who has picked their entry at the moment. And I've got to say, this is a really good Big 5 at the moment. So at my number one it's obviously France. I'm thinking the Big 5 plus Denmark have tried their best into getting the perfect song. There is one weak entry but I won't get into the details of the country because I want to talk more of the French entry.
6. This year there are a lot off great entries in the Eurovision Song Contest, Where do you think France will place in the Grand Final overall?
Harriet: I don't really talk about where my favourites are going to place in the final, it's not sure yet. I usually wait until every song is announced and then I'll decide who places where in the final and who qualifies and who doesn't. It's a long time to wait for the final results, but we shall see what will happen on the 10th May!
7. Finally we would like to ask you what are you most looking forward to in Eurovision 2014?
Harriet: I'm looking forward to loads of things in the ESC. Obviously TWIN TWIN because I don't know what they will do on the final. And I'm looking forward to what Copenhagen have to offer. They've done it before so they should know what key things they need to do. Finally I'm looking forward to Molly Smitten Downes doing our country proud. Hopefully this shall be a good ESC year. Thank you Jess for the lovely interview!
