Ann Sophie!
You can read what he has to say to us below!
logy. You c 1. Hello Tim, thanks for agreeing to this. How long have you been a Eurovision fan for?
Tim: Hi mysterious interviewer! I am a fan for 3 years now, but I´ve been watching Eurovision since 2009 already. But since 2013 I am a real fan and since then I also watch national finals and stuff.
2. This year Germany hosted the selection Unser Song für Österreich, to help decide their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Did you watch the selection? if so, what were some of your favourite moments?
Tim: Yes, I did, I even watched it on my tv! Well, the most exciting and most remarkable moment were obviously the results. But I thought the overall song quality and performances were really good… even though my favourite song didn´t even make it to the second round.
3. As we know after a very eventful selection, It was announced that Ann Sophie would be representing Germany with the song "Black Smoke". What is your opinion of the song?
Tim: It´s a very enjoyable entry, I really enjoyed it when it was released and it has many fans. However, I must be honest telling you that this is one of the songs that´s off-growing on me a lot at the moment. It´s still funky though and – in my opinion – a LOT better than last year´s entry from Germany.
4. How would you compare "Black Smoke" to recent Eurovision entries from Germany?
Tim: I can compare it to Lena´s first entry actually – Germany´s second winner in Eurovision history! It has a bit the same vibe and sometimes I even mistake Ann Sophie with Lena haha. I don´t think Black Smoke is on the same level as Satellite was but it definitely brings the same vibe for me.
5. Where do you think Germany will place overall in this years contest?
Tim: I don´t know… this year is really wide-open. I would say somewhere around 15th place. But I wouldn´t count out a placing between 10-15.
6. Finally what are you most looking forward to about this years Eurovision Song Contest?
Tim: I want to see if we can qualify! We from the Netherlands are a borderline qualifier and I want to know if we can haha. However, if that doesn´t count – I´m really looking forward to the voting. It will be very interesting how things will happen in the voting this year as it´s wide-open.
