Last
year we started the Eurovision Fan Reviews, where you the readers
review the songs taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest. And today
we bring you the 15th Eurovision Fan Review for the 2015 contest!
The person who we will be reviewing the next song in the 2015 fan reviews is Sagheer from the United Kingdom. He will be reviewing Lativa's Eurovision entry "Love Injected" by Aminata.
You can check out what he has to say about the entry below.
1. Hello Sagheer, thank you for agreeing to this, how long have you been a Eurovision fan?
Sagheer: Thank you for this interview. My love for the Eurovision Song Contest began in 2007 with Natalia Barbu's song 'fight' that represented Moldova. Since 2008, I have watched the semi finals and grand final and I became obsessed with the the national selections from the 2011 edition.
2. This year Latvia selected their Eurovision entry through Supernova 2015. Did you watch the show? If so, what were some of your favourite moments?
Sagheer: I did watch Supernova and was rooting for Aminata prior to the live shows. My highlights apart from Aminata winning have to be Electrofolk and the Beaver.
3. The winner of Supernova 2015 was Aminata with the song "Love Injected". What is your own personal opinion of the song?
Sagheer: I can't express how happy I am with the Latvian choice. They have finally selected a great artist and great song. 100% the correct choice for representing Latvia this year.
4. How would you compare "Love Injected" to recent Eurovision entries from Latvia?
Sagheer: 'Love injected' is definitely the best effort Latvia have sent in years in terms of song quality. Their songs in past years have been catchy but dated and that's why they have not qualified since 2008.
5. Latvia will be performing 10th in the second semi-final of Eurovision 2015, do you think this is a good place for them to perform?
Sagheer: With Latvia finally being drawn in the second half I had hopes that they would be drawn slightly later on. However number 10 is the position that Aminata will be performing in and I will be having my fingers crossed that this will qualify.
6. Where do you think Latvia will place overall in this years contest?
Sagheer: I feel that Latvia qualifying to the grand final will be like a victory the country. I hope they can achieve a top 10 in the grand final but if they qualify I would say 11-16th. Fingers crossed they qualify. They deserve it this year.
7. Finally, what are you most looking forward to about Eurovision 2015?
Sagheer: I am most looking forward to the Eurovision rehearsals, opening ceremony and the actual week of the contest. Cannot wait for it.
