A few months ago, Malta decided that Amber would be representing them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with her song "Warrior", and today we are very excited to bring you a interview with the woman herself!
We sent Amber a few questions regarding her upcoming attempt at Eurovision 2015, and she has kindly answered them for us. You can see whats she says to us below.
1. Hello Amber, thank you so much for agreeing to this, Could you start of by telling us how you got into singing?
Amber: I’ve been doing it for longer than I can remember. I’ve been competing in TV talent shows and doing gigs for years. I took part in Malta Eurovision five times. And I can tell you it was a great joy to eventually win it.
2. A massive congrats on winning the Malta Eurovision selection, How did it feel being crowned the winner?
Amber: Brilliant. I couldn’t believe it. It is a great honour to be representing Malta on the big Eurovision stage in Vienna.
3. The song you won the contest with, was "Warrior", (Which we love by the way!) Could you explain to us what the song is about?
Amber: It’s an inspirational song. It’s about not letting your problems engulf you. The message is to never give up but find your inner warrior and conquer.
4. Could you explain to us what representing Malta in Eurovision means to you?
Amber: It means everything. I think Eurovision is brilliant and it is such a privilege to be Malta’s representative. I hope I can do my country proud.
5. As we know you were in Eurovision 2012 as a backing singer for Kurt Calleja, do you think that experience will help you at Eurovision this year?
Amber: Maybe a little. Having had that experience I know what to expect and that might give me confidence. One thing is for sure, I can’t wait to meet the other artists and of course the fans.
6. Not long ago Georgia also selected a song called "Warrior" for Eurovision, have you had the chance to listen to it yet? If so what do you think?
Amber: It’s a bit unusual having two songs with the same title but my WARRIOR is quite different from Georgia’s. There will be 39 songs in all and I can’t wait to hear them all and see which are the best. I’ve no doubt the competition will be tough.
7. Following on from the last question, have you heard any of the songs selected for Eurovision 2015? If so what are your favorites?
Amber: It’s too early. Ask me again when more countries have chosen their entries.
8. Could you tell us what sort of things are you doing to prepare for Eurovision 2015?
Amber: I am doing my vocal exercises, of course. We’re working on improving the song to make it even more powerful. We want it to have great impact and excite people listening at home. And we will be shooting the video for WARRIOR soon. It’s all very exciting.
9. Finally, is there a message you would like to give the readers of ESC-Starz?
Amber: I would like to send big kisses from Malta. I know that Eurovision would be nothing without its fans and I thank you for all your support. If you like my song then please vote for Malta.
