So Tamara we would first of all like to thank you for this interview and would like to ask how does it feel making the final 24 of Dziesma 2014?
I feel so happy about getting into 24 of Dziesma 2014. I remember I tried two years ago, but nothing happened. It’s an amazing opportunity for singers and songwriters
We noticed that you have written the song "I'm Happy" yourself and wondered if you could explain to us what the song is about and what inspired you to write it?
Yes, I wrote lyrics and music for this song. I’ve also produced it and recorded at my home recording studio! Fortunately, I work with sound engineer Jevgeny KPC Kopein, every song from my upcoming album mixed and mastered by this awesome guy, so the final product is of high quality.
In truth, I wrote this song special for Eurovision contest one month before application deadline. I knew that it should be something very simple, catchy and funny. The theme that I chose is very important nowadays, I guess. People care about money and forget about really important things. It’s not right!
I started to write, that we can bring joy and happiness to other people, and we don’t need money to do that. I started to think about my life, my family and I made a conclusion – I”M HAPPY.
I hope that my song will make other people to come to the same conclusion and to feel the same love to the world as I feel. I hope that this song will inspire people to make good things.
What would it mean to you to be selected to represent Latvia in Copenhagen 2014?
As all musicians I dream about real fame and stardom. I want people to listen my songs, to be inspired by my songs. If it happens that I am selected to represent Latvia in Copenhagen 2014 my big dream will come true.
We would like to ask you apart from your own song what other songs do you like in Dziesma 2014?
In Dziesma 2014 the most I like the song „I can breathe” by Aminata Savadogo. Her style is very close to what I usually listen to and I think Aminata has very beautiful voice.
What has been your favourite Latvian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest?
My favorite entry in the Eurovision Song Contest was Aisha "What For” in 2010. I don’t understand why she didn’t get to the final. But for me she was the winner.
Over the past few years Latvia has not received great places in Eurovision if you where chosen to represent Latvia this year have you got any ideas on how to get Latvia into the final?
Oh, I’ve got lots of ideas, but that’s a secret! I really hope to be chosen to represent Latvia this year, and if it happens I’ll show you how to get to the final then :).
For the final question we would like to ask is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
The line from my lyrics and that is exactly what I wish to all people:
“Let there be always love in your hearts,
Let your close people be healthy and life
Let the sun shine bright deep in your souls!
Be happy!!!”
We would like to thank Tamara for this interview and would also like to wish her luck in Dziesma 2014 and would also like to wish her a very happy birthday for the 17th!
