Hello!
A few weeks ago we launched a new feature that ment we interview someone from each country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 & ask their review on their countries entry!
Today we are interviewing Liam Lane about Armenia's 2014 entry!
Liam Lane is a Eurovision fan from the United Kingdom! We contacted Liam and asked if her could answer a few questions for us and he has kindly agreed to do so!
Armenia's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 is Aram Mp3 with the song "Not Alone". Read what Liam said to us below!
1. Hello Liam! Thank you for agreeing to this interview! First off all how long have you been a Eurovision fan?
Liam: Well my first memory of the eurovision was the 2010 contest; I remember I was punished but my parents let me watch this singing competition I was fascinated by a German girl and that girl turned out to be lena! I kind of forgot about the contest then but rediscovered it again in 2013:D since then I've been an avid fan.
2. This year Armenia will be reprsented by Aram Mp3, How would you compare him to previous Armenia entries?
Liam: At first I was somewhat underwhelmed by the announcement made on new years eve. After hearing his song I rank it quite high and the best Armenian entries after "Apricot Stone".
3. The song Aram Mp3 will be singing is "Not Alone", what do you think off the song?
Liam: Well personally I was slightly dissapointed the song is okay but the transition into the dubstep is rather disjointed. After hearing all the rave reviews and looking at how they're the big favourites I decided to listen again, although it has grown on me they could've chosen a better song.
4. Armenia will be in semi final one, Do you think they will make the final?
Liam: Semi Final One is very powerful and the stronger semi final. It contains countries with very good qualification rates such as Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Sweden. With the addition of San Marino (a fan favourite) and Hungary and Belgium it is a very strong semi final.
5. A few people have considered this song a favourite to win the contest, Do you think it could win?
Liam: The bookmakers have Aram as the 9/4 favourite and his YouTube video has 600,000 views and 13,000 likes however these tend to be all Armenian and Georgian Viewings. I believe that the entry is very over hyped like France in 2011 a real bookmakers favourite.
6. Finally we would like to ask what are you most looking foward to about Eurovision 2014?
Liam: This year's contest has no runaway favourite in my opinion I can't wait to see the UK entry and hopefully a very tense and tight voting:) Thank you.
