You can read the interview below!
1. Hello Kitty, Thanks for agreeing to this interview, Could you start of by telling us and the readers how you got into singing & how you knew that it was what you wanted to do for a career?
Kitty: It's a pleasure to be here! Well, I was always singing from an early age. I loved performing and I guess it's something that I've known I've always wanted to do. Music is everything to me and it's my whole life.
2. I know that you entered X Factor UK a few years ago (which you where amazing on by the way!), can you explain to us what it was like taking part?
Kitty: It was really nerve-wracking but also a very inspiring and huge learning curve. It's not really very "real", but it gives you an amazing platform on which to really launch yourself as an artist. I'm so proud of what I've been able to achieve from coming 7th on a show like that.
3. Now, i know that one of your idols is Lady Gaga & remember watching the Xtra Factor after you where sadly eliminated &
remember a certain miss Lady Gaga running on stage to give you a hug! What was it like meeting the woman herself?
Kitty: Ahhh she was so nice! She gave me a lot of awesome advice and I've tried to stick to that and remember everything she told me.
4. Apart from meeting Lady Gaga, could you maybe tell us some more of your highlights from X Factor?
Kitty: Doing the halloween night, doing those big performances which I loved, and also getting to perform in front of millions of people a week. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
5. Now, Eurovision, What was the inspiration behind you entering the Switzerland selection this year?
Kitty: It was a spur of the moment decision, but I loved the song and I really wanted to do something with it. So because Switzerland has a very open process where anyone from any country can take part, I thought it was an amazing opportunity. The BBC from the UK won't have an X factor artist representing them (they have a rival show) so I needed to find another country that would really get behind me and especially one that wants to win. I want to do this for everyone who has had a knock-back in life. I have a lot of dreams that I want to achieve, and Eurovision is one of the best!
6. The song you have entered with is "Yearning", could you explain to us and the readers what the song is about?
Kitty: It was originally written for a musical, and it's this amazing dance-pop track that is super theatrical and fun at the same time. I love the fact that it gives me the opportunity to show off my voice and also perform it.
7. Have you checked out any of the other songs taking part in the selection? If you have what are some of your favourites?
Kitty: I like the one with the open heart surgery! And also there's some good ones from other countries as well. Everyone is very talented.
8. May I ask what you have planned for the stage performance, if you make it to the final of the Swiss selection?
Kitty: I am going to do something never done before on TV. That's all I can say, but if I can pull it off, it will be amazing. I'm also learning how to do "silks" as well, because I really want to incorporate that into my shoes anyway. The show has to be classy but very "me". It's all about the fashion as well!
9. Because we are a Eurovision blog i have to ask, what is your favourite Eurovision song & why?
Kitty: Diva by Dana International. It's my favourite ever song. I wanted to do it on X Factor!!
10. Finally, is there anything you would like to say to the readers of ESC-Starz?
Kitty: Big divahugs and please please go to www.votekitty.co.uk and give me four votes. It would mean a lot to me and this could really change my life.
11. Thank you for your time Kitty, I wish you the best of luck in the Switzerland selection!
Kitty: Xxxx
