Hello!
A few weeks ago we launched a new feature that ment we interview someone from each country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 & ask their review on their countries entry!
Today we are interviewing Callum Nowacki about F.Y.R Macedonia's 2014 entry!
Callum Nowaki is a huge Eurovision fan from the United Kingdom! We asked Callum a few questions about F.Y.R Macedonia's Eurovision Song Contest 2014 entry Tijana Dapcevic! Tijana will be reprasenting F.Y.R Macedonia with the song "To The Sky"! Read what Callum had to say to us below!
1. Hi Callum! Thank you for agreeing to answer thease questions! First of all we would like to ask you how long have you been a Euroivision fan for?
Callum: Hi! Well, not long actually, I've only really been interested heavily since 2011, although I've watched since 2007, the year we were "blessed" with Scooch! To put an exact date, 2011.
2. This year F.Y.R Macedonia will be represented by Tijana Dapcevic, How would you compare her to past F.Y.R Macedonia singers?
Callum: The best. She is, to me, the best Macedonian representative ever. Elena ranks close, but Tijana has a more likeable personality.
3. Tijana will be singing the song "To The Sky" in Copenhagen, Could you tell us what you think of the song?
Callum: I love it. It's perfect to me. It builds and builds and builds and keeps on growing. It is impressionable from the first listen, something important in Eurovision. To qualify, you get one chance. To win, you get on chance. Currently, it's my number one and I doubt anything else will overtake it.
4. This year the F.Y.R Macedonia entry (at the moment) is in English, Do you think this is a good idea or do you think they should have stuck to Macedonian?
Callum: English was the best choice. Although it flowed better in Macedonian, there really wasn't any emotion or rhythm there. The English version provides emotion, rhythm and understanding and will reach out to Europe. Either version would qualify, but the English version is a safer bet.
5. F.Y.R Macedonia have not had the greatest record in the past few years with them making only one out of six finals. Do you think Tijana will break this bad run for them?
Callum: Definitely. She has one of the best songs this year, as said. Even if she doesn't qualify, she will have done Macedonia proud. (But there's no chance she won't qualify!) And in Macedonia's case, it's a matter of qualifying or coming, say, 11th - close to qualifying.
6. Looking at the acts already chosen for the second semi final do you think Tijana will make the final or do you think she will struggle?
Callum: She won't win the semi, but she won't struggle either. I know that countries will appreciate her efforts; they will like the music and vote. The song isn't too unique as that it sounds and seems strange, but it's not too generic either, both tele-voters and
juries will go for her, I feel.
7. Looking at all the acts that have been chosen for Eurovision so far where would do you think Tijana will place overall?
Callum: If she doesn't qualify, definitely close and 11th. If she does qualify for the final, I'd say Top 10, maybe 10th - 14th.
8. Finally we would like to ask you what are you most looking foward to in the upcomnig Eurovision Song Contest 2014?
Callum: Well, thanks for the interview and I'm most looking forward to seeing how well the UK and F.Y.R Macedonia do! :)
