Hello!
You may remember a few months ago ESC-Starz asked you guys to review entries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 (If you have not seen them you can click here) and now we have decided to bring the fan reviews back but this time for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014!
Today we will be bringing you the fan review for the Cyprus entry in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which is Julia, who will be performing the song "Around".
Today we will be talking to Sara about The Netherlands entry in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014! Read what she has to say below!
1. Hello, thanks for agreeing to do this, How long have you followed Junior Eurovision for?
Sara: Hello! You're welcome, looking forward to the questions! I found Junior Eurovision through Youtube back in late 2006. I saw a video of Maria Isabel singing Antes Muerta Que Sencilla in her national final and became hooked. I watched random songs and finally found a forum community in 2007 and even since then I have followed it!
2. I know that you where watching the Junior Songfestival (The Netherlands selection for JESC), so i would like to as what where some of your highlights of the show?
Sara: Chelsea was a big surprise and highlight. The first time she performed her song I didn't like it much because she sounded too nervous but in the final you could tell she really wanted to win and she sounded amazing. I also thought Suze did a good job vocally than the previous time. Her stage act was the most interesting to me. My favorite song was Sebastiaan, though, with 2gether We Are One.
3. How where you feeling when the final results where being read out, excited, nervous?
Sara: I felt pretty calm, I was pretty positive Chelsea or Julia were going to win, and they each got the top scores from all three juries/televoting. It was pretty predictable towards the end what the result would be.
4. As we know the winner of Junior Songfestival was Julia Van Bergen aka Julia, what do you think of her vocals?
Sara: In the semi-final she sounded better, in the final she sounded a bit out of breath but I am impressed by her live vocals and being able to dance and sing with so much energy and still sound great.
5. The song Julia will be singing is "Around", what do you think of the song?
Sara: I love the song, it is one of the best of the year so far, it's my second place after Ukraine. It's a great dance track and it will balance out some of the slower tempo songs in Junior this year. Looking forward to how she changes her performance considering she needs to get rid of at least 2 dancers for the JESC stage!
6. Where do you think The Netherlands will place overall in this years Junior Eurovision?
Sara: I think The Netherlands will place mid-scoreboard, bottom of the top half, if that makes sense. I just think other songs may stand out more since Julia's does get a bit repetitive towards the end. I definitely don't think she will be in the bottom half.
7. Finally, what are you most looking foward to about Junior Eurovision 2014?
Sara: I'm most looking forward to being at the actual contest and watching it live. It will be the first time I go to Junior Eurovision and I even have press accreditation so it will be amazing to see how the artists interact with each other. Oh and having 16 countries this year after having years in which JESC wasn't looking like it was going to make it! So happy about the debuts and returning countries!
