Hello!
You may remember a few months ago ESC-Starz asked you guys to review entries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 (If you have not seen them you can click here) and now we have decided to bring the fan reviews back but this time for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014!
For are first JESC fan review we will be bringing you the review for San Marino's Junior Eurovision 2014 entry The Peppermints and their song "Breaking My Heart".
The person who will be reviewing San Marino's entry if Manel! Read what he has to say below!
1. Hello Manel, thanks for agreeing to do this. How long have you been a fan of Junior Eurovision?
Manel: Hello, it's my pleasure. I've been a fan of the Junior version of Eurovision since 2013. Before last year's edition, I had never really showed interest for it but when I listened to the twelve entries I instantaneously started to like the contest.
2. This year San Marino will be represented by the girl band The Peppermints, what do you think of their vocals?
Manel: The vocals of the five girls are actually pretty good. Most people don't think like that because they only heard their Junior Eurovision song "Breaking My Heart" (which seems vocally messy in some parts). If you search for videos of them singing (separately) you'll definitely like their voices!
3. The song The Peppermints will be performing is "Breaking My Heart", what do you think of the song?
Manel: The song has some pluses and some minuses but I think that the positive points overweight the negative ones. If you only hear "Breaking My Heart" once you probably won't like it (which is bad because you only have one chance of hearing it in the Junior Eurovision night!) but if you listen to it more times I'm sure you'll get addicted to its catchy beat and young spirit.
4. Where do you think San Marino will place overall in this years contest?
Manel: Unfortunately for The Peppermints and for San Marino, I think they will be in the bottom three of the scoreboard. Note that I only say this because of what I mentioned in the answer above. But the positive side is that they will probably get some points from Italy (who knows, maybe their douze points?!) and the host, Malta.
5. Finally, what are you looking forward to about Junior Eurovision 2014?
Manel: Oh, so many things! I'm so happy that Malta has finally a chance of showing themselves to the Eurovision world! I'm also very excited with the fact that sixteen countries will participate this year. But the one thing I'm probably looking forward the most is the results. I really don't know who will win this year: there are so many good entries!
