Hello!
A few weeks ago we launched a new feature that ment we interview someone from each country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 & ask their review on their countries entry!
Today we are interviewing Amanda Noon about Albania's 2014 entry!
Amanda is a massive Eurovision fan. We sent Amanda a few questions about Albania's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 and she has kindly answered them for us!
Albania's entry in Eurovision 2014 is Hersi Matmuja (aka Hersi) with the song "One Night's Anger". Read what Amanda said to us below!
1. Hello Amanda! Thanks for agreeing to do this! How long have you been a Eurovision fan?
Amanda: Hello, and thank you for letting me review an entry!I first heard of Eurovision in 2006, but didn’t become a fan until 2011.
2. Albania decided their entry through Festivali i Këngës 52, Did you watch the show? If you did what where your highlights?
Amanda: Unfortunately, I was unable to watch it live, but I watched a recap and though that there were a lot of strong songs in FiK this year!
3. This year Herciana Matmuja (aka Hersi) will represent Albania, What do you think off her vocals?
Amanda: I love her vocals! She has a unique sound to her voice, which is refreshing to hear in the contest.
4. The song Hersi will be singing is "One Nights Anger", What do you think off the song?
Amanda: On the one hand, I think that the song is well composed and put together. On the other hand, I feel that the song needs more of a “punch” to have more of an impact on the audience.
5. The song was Originally in Albanian but was changed to English, Do you think it was the right move to change it from Albanian to English? Or would you have perfered it to stay in Albanian?
Amanda: While I’m sad that it was changed, I do think it was the right move to change the language. I also think that the English version shows off her voice more.
6. Albania will be performing 6th in semi final one, Do you think this is a good place for them to perform?
Amanda: I think that Albania will be at a disadvantage. While Hersi is performing a bit after Aram Mp3 is, Her song may be overshadowed by other entries, such as Ukraine, The Netherlands, and Hungary.
7. Where do you think Albania will place overall in Eurovision 2014?
Amanda: I worry that they may not be able to make it to the final. While the song style is unique for its Semi-final, being placed earlier will hurt their chances. If they do make it to the final, I predict they will place between 15-26.
8. Finally, What are you most looking forward to about Eurovision 2014?
Amanda: I’m looking forward to the live performances, as well as the interval acts!
