Last
year we started the Eurovision Fan Reviews, where you the readers
review the songs taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest. And today
we bring you the sixth Eurovision Fan Review for the 2015 contest!
The person who we will be reviewing the next song in the 2015 fan reviews is Annalee McGarry from the United Kingdom. She will be reviewing the Belgium Eurovision entry "Rhythm Inside" by Loic Nottet.
You can check out what she has to say about the entry below.
1. Hello Annalee, thank for agreeing to this, How long have you been a Eurovision fan for?
Annalee: I watched the Eurovision final every year since 2007, but I've only been a fan since I heard 'Love Kills' in 2013 and fell in love with it; it's still one of my favourite songs. That year was the first time I watched the semi finals and knew the songs before the competition. So really, my Eurovision obsession is all Belgium's fault!
2. As we know Belgium selected Loic Nottet to represent them at Eurovision 2015, How did you react when you heard the news?
Annalee: I wasn't sure at first. I watched a couple of videos of Loic singing and I thought he was really talented, but he has a very unusual voice, so he would need a song that really suited his voice or he would be in danger of sounding like a joke act.
3. The song that Loic will perform is called "Rhythm Inside", Could you tell us what you think of the song?
Annalee: I love it! I think it's really contemporary and catchy, it's the type of song you would hear on the radio at the moment but I think wider Eurovision audiences will like it too. It definitely suits Loic's voice, so I think the whole team made a really good choice.
4. How would you compare "Rhythm Inside" to recent Eurovision entries from Belgium?
Annalee: Belgium have sent a variety of different entries over the past few years, so you can't really compare them and you can't say 'that sounds like a Belgian song'. But I think Rhythm Inside definitely stands out; it's my second favourite from them (apart from Love Kills, of course!)
5. Belgium will be performing in the first half of the first Eurovision semi-final, do you think this is a good place for them to perform?
Annalee: I think it's always difficult to perform in the first half of the competition, but i think Rhythm Inside is a really distinctive entry and hopefully it will get a lot of people's attention.
6. Where do you think Belgium will place overall in this years Eurovision Song Contest?
Annalee: I don't really like guessing the results because Eurovision is so unpredictable, and we can never really know how much of an impact an entry will make until we see how it will look on stage (just remember how amazing The Common Linnets were last year). BUT if I have to guess I'd say that Belgium will end up somewhere between 5-15.
7. Finally, what are you most looking forward to about this years Eurovision Song Contest?
Annalee: The staging! Like I just said, staging is really important to the overall placing of a song, and we have a lot of duets and down-tempo songs this year so I'm looking forward to seeing how the staging will set them apart from each other.
