Last
year we started the Eurovision Fan Reviews, where you the readers
review the songs taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest. And today
we bring you the second Eurovision Fan Review for the 2015 contest!
The person who will be starting off the 2015 fan reviews is Büşra from the escbubble.com. She will be reviewing the Netherlands Eurovision entry "Walk Along" by Trijntje Oosterhuis.
You can check out what she has to say about the entry below.
1. Hello Busra, thank you for agreeing to do this review, how long have you been a Eurovision fan for?
Busra: Hello dear Jess and EscStarz readers, I thank you for asking for a fan interview, hope it will be fun to read it. :) I've been a fan since I was really really young like 8-9 because mam was a bloody fan and she was watching the contest and was very interested. That way I started to watch them but the first Eurovision I remember having watched was 2003 when my homeland won.
2. This year The Netherlands have selected Trijntje Oosterhuis to be their Eurovision representative, what was your reaction when you heard she would be the Dutch entry?
Busra: Oh yes. Honestly I didn't know much about her, I only heard of her once or twice. I was kind of disappointed when I got to learn Trijintje would be the Dutch representative because I wanted Dotan like many other.
3. The song Trijntje Oosterhuis will be performing at Eurovision 2015 is "Walk Along", what do you think of the song?
Busra: I like it! I do like it and so far it's been on my top 3 along with Italy and Denmark. First of all it's a grower, no matter what, you find yourself singing "whyayayayay" in the middle of the day even if you listen to it just once because it's really catchy and that's one of the things you need in a Eurovision entry.
4. How would you compare "Walk Along" to recent Eurovision entries from The Netherlands?
Busra: Let me compare the last 5 years. Ik Ben Verliefd, well I did like it too, it's a little kitschy and all you know, Never Alone, I have the same feelings, it was a good one but not a good enough one for Eurovision. In that case, Walk Along is definitely much better than these two. However, You and I, Birds and especially Calm After The Storm are cult in Dutch Eurovision history. Sadly I don't think Walk Along can top CATS' success, and if it would, it would be the winner. :D Not gonna happen though. Sadly enough.
5. The Netherlands will be performing in the second half, of the first semi-final, do you think this is a good place for them to perform?
Busra: Performing in the second half is helpful, but in my opinion winning it only depends on how good your song is. And I'm sure they will qualify.
6. This is quite a tricky question, but where do you think The Netherlands will place overall in this years contest?
Busra: I believe they will place somewhere between 10-15. If mediocre songs like we have so far keep coming though, they can also place between 5-10.
7. Finally, what are you most looking foward to about this years contest?
Busra: I'm looking forward to it as a whole, performances, intervals, Vienna, parties, Euroclub, everything you can think of!
