Molly has recently released her new single "Freak", which has reached over a million view on YouTube!
You can read our interview with her below!
1. Hello Molly, Thanks for agreeing to this interview, we would like to start off by saying we love your new single “Freak” and was wondering could you explain how you came up with the idea for the song?
Molly: I was bullied when I was younger and I've had a bad self confidence ever since. Mostly regarding my body. I managed to get through the worst time because of my family and fans who gave me love and helped me like myself again. So you could say that Freak is a song to a 10 years younger Molly -and also the fans - or just anyone - who is fighting a bad self confidence!
2. The reaction to the song has been extremely positive, where you expecting such a massive positive reaction to the song?
Molly: Oh you can never expect anything. My main goal was to reach out to the young girls and boys who has been writing to me every day... Who needs someone to start a debate and just tell them the truth - that we all look different and that we're beautiful just the way we are!
3. As we have just said you have just released your new single, will there be an album to follow?
Molly: Yes! I hope so! Haha. I have so many songs now waiting to be heard! But I gotta wait for the right timing... so I can't tell you when exactly... But I can promise you at least a single after Christmas!
4. Now as we know you represented Sweden in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006, could you explain to us what it was like taking part in the contest?
Molly: The whole thing was a sparkling, exciting, nervous "Blurr"... I was in a chock that whole year and thought everything felt so unreal. Like a dream. It was really an honor to represent Sweden and meet so many young talented new friends from all over Europe.
5. We know that your sisters Frida & Mimmi also competed in Junior Eurovision, what was it like watching them also perform on the Junior Eurovision stage?
Molly: It was such an amazing feeling... I cried many happy tears ;) But I was even more nervous when they competed! Haha.
6. This year Julia Kedhammar will represent Sweden at Junior Eurovision, what advice would you give to her for performing at JESC?
Molly: Just go out there and have fun. Communicate the emotions in the song and just enjoy every second of it. This is a trip you will NEVER forget!
7. Speaking of Eurovision In 2009 & 2012 you took part in Melodifestivalen with the songs “Så vill stjärnorna” & “Why Am I Crying?” could you tell us what it was like taking part in Melfest?
Molly: It's a crazy circus you just gotta love. It's both the funniest and scariest things I've done.
8. Carrying on from the last question do you think you will compete in Melodifestivalen again in the future?
Molly: I hope so! Not right now, but maybe in a few years! When I have that perfect song...
9. Because we are a Eurovision blog we have to ask this question, what is your favourite Eurovision song & why?
Molly: I think I would have to say Euphoria with Loreen. I competed the same year as her, and the whole performance was so enchanting! The song became like an anthem for the whole contest and when I hear it I think about all the memories.
10. Finally, do you have anything to say to the readers of ESC-Starz?
Molly: I really hope I'll get to see you, hug you and perform anytime soon for the ESC audience!
We would like to thank Molly for the interview!
