Last
year we started the Eurovision Fan Reviews, where you the readers
review the songs taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest. And today
we bring you the 17th Eurovision Fan Review for the 2015 contest!
The person who we will be reviewing the next song in the 2015 fan reviews is Emily from the United Kingdom. She will be reviewing F.Y.R Macedonia Eurovision entry "Autumn Leaves" by Daniel Kajmakoski.
You can check out what she has to say about their entry below.
1. Hello Emily, thank you for agreeing to this. How long have you been a Eurovision fan?
Emily: Hey there! I've been watching Eurovision since 2006, but I really got into it in 2012 when I joined Twitter and Tumblr where I met all the lovely Eurofamily.
2. This year F.Y.R Macedonia selected their Eurovision entry through the Skopje Festival 2014. Did you wath the show? If so, what were some of your favourite moments from the show?
Emily: I didn't actually manage to watch Skopje Fest as I was at a relative's house at the time, but I watched the winning performance as soon as I got home as I'm usually a fan of Macedonian entries.
3. As we know, Daniel Kajmakoski won the selection with the song "Lisja Esenski"/"Autumn Leaves". As we know the song will be performed in English at the Eurovision Song Contest, so I wondered what is your opinion of "Autumn Leaves"?
Emily: I really like "Autumn Leaves". It has a lovely message and the music video is very well thought of. The first version we had was the Macedonian version: "Lisja Esenski", which was my number 1 for the longest time. I loved the language, the tempo, everything about it, and if they'd left it as it was, it would have remained my number 1. But since the revamp, it's gone down slightly in my top. It's still in my top 10, but the sudden change from Macedonian to English threw me off. Regardless, I think Daniel is a fantastic performer and the public will love it.
4. How would you compare "Autumn Leaves" to recent Eurovision entries from F.Y.R Macedonia?
Emily: I think "Autumn Leaves" is one of Macedonia's best entries, and will have a better chance of qualifying due to how different it is compared to other entries in previous years.
5. F.Y.R Macedonia will perform 8th in the first semi-final in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Do you think this is a good place for them to perform?
Emily: I think 8th is a very safe spot to be. Additionally, it's straight after the slow-ish song of Estonia and so it might pick up the mood a bit, especially with its loving message. It's before Serbia's upbeat song, creating the differences which could be an advantage.
6. Where do you think F.Y.R Macedonia will place overall at this years contest?
Emily: I'm hoping it will qualify, and hopefully place in the top 10.
7. Finally, what are you most looking forward to about this years Eurovision Song Contest?
Emily: I'm looking forward to enjoying the contest with the Eurofamily as always :)
