Last
year we started the Eurovision Fan Reviews, where you the readers
review the songs taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest. And today
we bring you the 12th Eurovision Fan Review for the 2015 contest!
The person who we will be reviewing the next song in the 2015 fan reviews is Hanne from Norway. She will be reviewing the Azerbaijan Eurovision entry "Hour Of The Wolf" by Elnur Huseynov.
You can check out what she has to say about the entry below.
1. Hello Hanne, thank you for agreeing to this, how long have you been a Eurovision fan for?
Hanne: Hi, Hello! I've been a eurovision fan since the final in Riga back in 2003 - where my home country got 4th place right in front of our biggest enemy who got 5th.
2. This year Azerbaijan have selected Elnur Hüseynov to represent them at this years Eurovision Song Contest. As we know Elnur represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2008 (alongside Samir Javadzadeh), what was your reaction when you heard he was returning to Eurovision?
Hanne: I was super excited when I heard about Elnur returning! Every good eurovision year has an returning artist and I was afraid it was not gonna happen this time. But I loved their entry back in 2008! Even the one they were actually won in Azerbaijan that year, but they switched for a more interesting performance. Elnur, it's good to have you back!
3. Elnur will be representing Azerbaijan with the song "Hour Of The Wolf", What do you think of the song?
Hanne: I think it's the best male ballad in english this year actually. My hopes wasn't too big after Azerbaijan's "flop" last year, but I think Elnur and Azerbaijan's entry is spectacular and personal. A really good ballad from a country who keeps impressing me when it comes to music!
4. How would you compare "Hour Of The Wolf" to recent Eurovision entries from Azerbaijan?
Hanne: I'm a true sucker for ballads, so I think this is one of the better entries Azerbaijan has sent the last 8 years in my opinion. Of course - it's no Farid Mammadov, but hey. Who is?
5. As we know Azerbaijan will perform 11th in the second semi-final, do you think this is a good place for them to perform?
Hanne: I would prefer if Azerbaijan could perform after Sweden (number 13 in the same semi-final). I think that would increse Azerbaijan's chances of getting though to the final - but I cross all my fingers for Azerbaijan and Elnur to make it. "Hour of the Wolf" and the montenegrin entry are the two best ballads in the second semi.
6. Where do you think Azerbaijan will place overall in this years contest?
Hanne: I don't think it will be a top 5. But perhaps get a 11th or 12th place. Depending on the entry getting a good spot in the final (like being the last one to perform!).
7. Finally, what are you most looking foward to about this years contest?
Hanne: I look forward to see what touch Austria will put on the show as the host nation! They have waited since 1967 with hosting this magical show it's about time that this country that has given so much to music through centuries finally get to show themselves of!
