Last
year we started the Eurovision Fan Reviews, where you the readers
review the songs taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest. And today
we bring you the 8th Eurovision Fan Review for the 2015 contest!
The person who we will be reviewing the next song in the 2015 fan reviews is Amanda from the United States. She will be reviewing the Israel Eurovision entry "Golden Boy" by
Nadav Guedj.
You can check out what she has to say about the entry below.
1. Hello Amanda, thank you for agreeing to this, how long have you been a Eurovision fan for?
Amanda: Thank you for letting me review! I first heard of Eurovision in 2006, but didn’t become a fan until 2011.
2. This year Israel selected Nadav Guedj to represent them at this years Eurovision Song Contest. What do you think of his vocals?
Amanda: Impressive, since he’s only 16 years old!
3. Nadav Guedj will be representing Israel with the song "Golden Boy", What do you think of Nadav's song?
Amanda: At first, I thought that the song was a bit messy, since it changes style and pace a couple of times. However, the song has grown on me and now I think the style changes are fine. I can’t help but dance to it while at work!
4. How would you compare "Golden Boy" to recent Eurovision entries from Israel?
Amanda: It’s the first time that Israel has sent a song that is 100% in English. While I’m a little disappointed that there’s no Hebrew in the lyrics, the song does makes up for it by having memorable lyrics. This is one of the more exciting and fun entries that Israel, and while 2014’s entry was fast paced, this is the first Israeli entry in years that I felt like I could dance to!
5. As we know Israel will be performing 9th in the second semi-final. Do you think this is a good place for them to perform?
Amanda: I think so. While I think it would’ve benefitted them more if they performed later, I think they will still be able to stand out, especially since a couple of the songs performing after Israel are ballads.
6. Where do you think Israel will place overall in this years contest?
Amanda: I would love to see Israel in the top 10 again. However, it depends on how well they stage it, since they have struggled with that in the past. I predict that they will land between 10-15 places.
7. Finally, what are you most looking foward to about this years Eurovision Song Contest?
Amanda: Finding out how each country will stage their performances. I hope to see something memorable!
